Did You Know?

At Rockport-Fulton ISD, we know that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. The partnership between home and school is what makes learning truly powerful. When parents and schools walk side by side, students not only achieve more academically, they also grow in confidence, resilience, and character.

This page is meant to be a place where you can see how we are working together, stay connected to your child’s school, and find ways to be part of shaping Pirate Nation. Your voice matters here, and we are grateful for the many ways you support our students every single day.

Parent and Family Engagement at RFISD

Why Family Engagement Matters

Research shows that students thrive when schools and families work together. Family engagement is more than attending events, it means families are equal partners with educators, valued for their strengths and voices!

When parents and families are engaged:

  • Students are more likely to read on grade level, succeed in math, and graduate.
  • Students have stronger social and emotional skills.
  • Communities grow stronger as schools and families share responsibility for success

What RFISD Does

At Rockport-Fulton ISD, we believe family engagement is the foundation of student success. Here’s how we keep parents connected and involved:

  • Weekly Newsletters – Principals share updates, celebrations, and important information through Edlio – sent to your email from Proud Pirate Parent address.
  • Parent Nights & Advisory Groups – Families are invited to participate in open dialogue, planning, and leadership opportunities.
  • Regular Communication – Teachers and principals provide updates on student progress through conferences, email, Skyward Family Access, and school calls.
  • Volunteer & Leadership Opportunities – Parents can join committees, volunteer at schools, and help shape district initiatives.
  • District Parent Nights – Parents are welcome to meet with district leaders, share ideas, and ask questions in a transparent setting – October 20th at Fulton Elementary from 5:30 to 7:30 meet with our district leaders at this year’s Pirate Parent Pathways:
